Basketball Band
The Basketball Band is made up of members of the Freshmen Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Orchestra. The Band rehearses once, and plays at a number of games throughout the basketball season. The band performs a variety of music before the game, during half-time, and during timeouts, taking a break during the third quarter.
Basketball Band is an extracurricular activity separate from marching band. This should be a low-stress, fun activity for everyone involved! Expectations are simple:
- Be respectful of everyone around you
- Be ready to play at the appropriate times
- Be on time and prepared for rehearsals and performances

Report time for all games is 6:15pm in the WHS band room, unless specified otherwise.

- Mandatory Rehearsal – Wednesday, January 14 @ 3:00pm
- Saturday, January 17 – vs. Ashland (report time: 6:30)
- Tuesday, January 20 – vs. Youngstown Ursuline
- Friday, January 30 – vs. Warren Harding
- Tuesday, February 3 – vs. Akron East
- Saturday, February 7 – vs. Akron Ellet
- Friday, February 13 – vs. McKinley
- TBD – Additional game (reschedule)
Theme Nights
Participation in theme nights in encouraged, but not mandatory. Past theme nights have included hat night, pajama night, beach night, and orange and black night, among others. If you have ideas for theme nights, please bring them to the first (and only) rehearsal.
